Holy something something, Bat fans! Warner Bros. has today announced Batman: Arkham Origins, a title that will be released for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U and PC on 25th October.
Developer by Warner Bros. Montreal, Batman: Arkham Origins will be set a few years before the events of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City. The game will see players take on the role of a young Batman as he meets many of the iconic characters in the franchise for the first time.
A spin-off, titled Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, is also in development for the Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita. The handheld title will be developed by Armature Studio, the company who now employ several people who worked on the Metroid Prime Trilogy at Retro.
It seems like the game will be set during Christmas Eve in Gotham City and will feature the debut of Deathstroke in an Arkham title. However, apart from that, details are quite scarce at the moment. The game is set to be fully unveiled in the next issue of Game Informer, but just to whet everyone’s appetite the folks behind the magazine have released a trailer teasing their coverage – check it out below.
