Gamestop Settles

April 11, 2012

Earlier we reported that Gamestop was the focus of a class action lawsuit due to that fact that they do not warn customers that some games require you to pay extra to play online if its not a new copy like Battlefield 3. Well Gamestop has settled and will now post signs in California stores warning customers of extra charges for these games, they will also reimburse customers who have purchased these games with a$10 check and a $5 coupon if they are a Powerup member. If they are not a member they get a $5 check and a $10 coupon.

This is a sign of hope for those of us who buy our games second hand, because this makes it unlikely they will continue to sell games requiring the extra purchase for only $5-$10 less than a new copy seeing as the avrage cost for the online pass is about $10.
