Remember the beginning? The beginning of the PS3 Scene, the jailbreak was born, many people were so excited, it was a glorious time. One of the fondest memories I’ll ever have was the constant, never ending comments of “Will GT5 Work on this though!?”… oh yes, and we may relive those memories once again with today’s big announcement that Gran Turismo 6 will be released this year for the PlayStation 3. President of Polphony Digital and creator of the Gran Turismo Franchise, Kazunori Yamauchi, announced today at a special press conference event at Silverstone in the UK, that the sixth sequel in the series was indeed coming.
“I’d like to announce today that we are developing GT 6 for the holiday season this year on the PlayStation 3,” he revealed. “The game engine will be renewed for GT6, we’ll be cleaning it up, making it smoother for the future.
“The rendering engine will be completely renewed for GT 6, there will be a revamped Physics Engine, new suspension, tyre and aerodynamics modelling. We’ll have 200 more cars than Gran Turismo 5, with 1200 available at release. More cars will be released after launch, too.”
Along with this, all GT5 tracks will be preserved. The game will launch with 33 locations, 71 course layouts, 19 brand new, and an additional set of new tracks will be released every month via DLC. Oh and yes, there will be an all new course maker. Players will be able to make and share their tracks and create communities and championships for them.
The game has been confirmed playable at E3, stick around here on Dashhacks for more information on this news.
