multiMAN 04.19.07 Released: There’s Good News & Bad News

February 13, 2013

[Almost] everyone’s favorite backup manager got itself another update. deank has released multiMAN 04.19.07 and continues the usual flow of updates. With this version, multidisc PS1 games are now supported with the new PS1_NETEMU emulator that was implemented in the previous version. With this last feature being added in, PS1 support should be as complete as it’s ever going to be. Unfortunately, this update also spells bad news for some users.

Shortly after the release, deank has announced that support for custom firmwares earlier than 4.30 will be ended with the release of 05.00.00, whenever that should be. He came to the decision to end support for these firmwares after supporting them for the past 2 and a half years. With the scene moving forward with newer custom firmwares, etc., he feels that he should as well. With that being said, your choices is to either upgrade, stay put with 04.19.07 or find another backup manager completely.

You can download the 04.19.07 via the usual venues.
