Nintendo Boss Doubts Next Gen Success

June 14, 2012

Since I have been young, the waiting time for the next generation console has been a painful process but it’s always been worth it. Well according to Nintendo boss Iwata, this time it might not be…

According to the Nintendo big dog, both the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox 720 might be blowing their own horn and will apparently not make the graphical leap necessary.

The jump between the first generation of PlayStation to the next was quite something and the same applies for the second generation to the third, however Iwata slams the PlayStation 4 and Xbox 720 saying that consumers are expecting a graphical leap of similar proportions that these new console just won’t be able to achieve.

Iwata adds that if the next generation consoles make the hardware changes expected such as beefing up the processor, significantly better graphics cards and increasing RAM, than current developers will struggle to produce the games that these machines will be capable of.

The real question that needs to be asked though…is this simply a clever criticism of the PS4 and 720 to defend the Wii U’s inferior hardware advances since the Wii?
