Not Everyone Is A Fan Of The New Wii U

Well the Wii U has been out for a few days and we have already seen some interesting developments regarding the console, the console has sold out in many places and seems to be quite popular.

But it seems that not everyone is a fan of the new console, take Oles Shishkovtsov developer of Metro: Last Light for example, who says the game will not appear on the Wii U, here is a quote from NowGamer:

One of these titles will be 4 A Games’ Metro: Last Light. Chief technical officer, Oles Shishkovtsov, explains why Metro’s sequel won’t be appearing.

“[The] Wii U has a horrible, slow CPU,” said Shishkovtsov to NowGamer.

Even his colleage, Huw Beynon, confirmed there would not be a Wii U version of Metro: Last Light, and couldn’t justify the effort required to bring a comparable version to the Wii U.

“We had an early look at it, we thought we could probably do it, but in terms of the impact we would make on the overall quality of the game – potentially to its detriment – we just figured it wasn’t worth pursuing at this time. It’s something we might return to. I really couldn’t make any promises, though.”

Gustav Halling Lead Designer had this to say:

“I don’t actually know what makes it slow, but enough “tech” people I trust in world are saying the same things.”

“GPU and ram is nice to have shaders/textures loaded. Physics and gameplay run on CPU mostly so player count is affected etc.”
