For fans of the Atlus hit series Persona, the midnight hour struck hard last night. Atlus had been teasing Persona announcements for over a week to drum up interest for their announcement. And it seems like the Publisher behind the Persona series had something up their sleeve for all, so Persona fans can get their fix on a large variety of game systems. Is your favourite among them?
Because this site is home to a lot of PlayStation owners I thought it would be best not to keep you in waiting any longer and tell you what you want to know. So without further ado;
Persona 5 winter 2014 on PS3
Arguably the biggest announcement of the bunch; Persona 5 is coming to Japanese PS3s during the winter 2014 timeframe.
We don’t know much about the game other than that the trailer, which you can view below, has English text in it. This hints at a localisation (like that wasn’t to be expected).
Also the sort teaser-video mentions slavery and emancipation. It remains to be seen in what light we have to put these themes of the game, and how much they will influence little things like gameplay and story.
Persona 4: Dancing All Night on PS VIta
Persona 4 Golden for the PS Vita was a big hit and for many a Vita gamer their first experience with the Persona games. Because of that Atlus decided to release the next great entry of their RPG series on Vita. Nope, sorry scratch that. The next Persona game to come to PS Vita is a rhythm based dancer named Persona 4 dancing All Night.
Personal interest aside fans of rhythm games will applaud Atlus for bringing this game to Vita. But because rhythm games aren’t my cup of tea I look with envy to those who have a 3DS, more on this later. First you can watch the trailer for the dancing game below.
Persona 4 The Ultimax Ultra Suplex Hold for PS3
If you liked Persona arena then you will want to keep an eye out for the next iteration of the fighter in the Persona series. I personally love it when franchises make cross genre games, and mixing it up with a fighter proved to be a smart and natural choice for the series. P4U is set for a PlayStation 3 release.
Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth goes 3DS
Like I said before, not only did Atlus cater to gamers who love to play Persona games on PlayStation systems, they also showed a little bit of Persona love to the Nintendo crowd. Guess what; if you own a 3DS and want to experience a Persona game on that system, as soon as June 6th 2014 you can, at least in Japan.
Design wise Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth shows a more chibi like anime style, and it looks like the story will revolve around both the Persona 3 and Persona 4 cast of characters. This will be the first time that any Persona the spinoff of the Shin Megami Tensei series gets a Nintendo release.
There you have it, all of the four new games that where presented during Atlus’ announcement.
