For those of you who have been living under a rock or at least living a life away from your computer allow me to fill you in on what’s going on. The scene has been revitalized with the release of a few different versions of similar tools that aim at giving back PS3 owners what Sony took away… reverse compatibility.
Developer Qoobz has released both of his tools to allow PS3 users to convert their PSX games into PKG files for install on their systems. This will allow user to play their favorite games straight from their XMB all with your own custom icons.
Creating a PSOne PKG with PS1toPS3 GUI
Step #1: Hit “Browse” and find the ISO image or the BIN file and select the file.
Step #2: (Optional) Add CUE file
Step #3: (Optional) You can modify the automatically created “Title ID”
Step #4 (Optional) You can modify the automatically created “Title on XMB”

- When Booting A PSone game from XMB, If you hold down R1 you can enter IrisManager’s: PSX Emulator Settings Menu.
- Playing PS1 Games on Iris then entering into multiMAN can causes conflicts when done multiple times and can create a freeze. Please beware of this conflict between Iris and multiMAN., best way to avoid the freezing is to reboot your PS3 after each apps use.
