SEGA In Deep Water

March 30, 2012

It seems that a lot of gaming companies have struggled recently and with the problems GAME Group is facing; is it inevitable that others will follow?

SEGA is a huge gaming company, one of the godfathers of gaming, so when news like this hits the internet it is never a good sign. Sega has warned investors that turnover profits for the term ending on the 31st March are set to shock, according to reports the company hasn’t been doing particularly well and this is going to have some backlash on the industry itself.

SEGA’s big dogs have told investors that the company is hitting a downfall and as a result will not only have to lose many employees throughout the world, but will also have to bail out on games so they can focus on the future. The gaming legends new idea to cut down expenditure and maximise focus on surviving is a pre-emptive strike on the situation that other business didn’t see coming.

Are Sega an exception to the rule though? Can they survive the horror that is the current gaming market?

Let me know your thoughts.
