Sony just recently launched a version of the PlayStation store that you can access in your internet browser anywhere, at any time. The Sony Entertainment Network Store is extremely fast, stylish and offers a great alternative store for everyone. The new store packs some new features and a cleaner design than whats offered on the PSVita store and PS3 Store. There wasn’t a official announcement of the store yet as its still in a testing but usable stage. PlayStation Blog Manager Fred Dutton said that they are “testing a new web store, which we look forward to announcing and launching to the PlayStation/Sony community shortly.”
The new store allows you the convenience to shop when you are not within range of your nearest Sony device. It’s faster than any other browser based store and a breeze to use with a more modern, user friendly interface. The site is a little late with Microsoft already having an equivalent Xbox 360 Marketplace store, however the new store stands its ground pretty well despite the fact of not having automatic downloads. You’ll be able to make purchases with your account and now with some new payment options. You’ll be able to now pay using the option of signing in using your PSN ID and buying content using a range of prepaid, debit or credit cards, and even PayPal, something that has been long requested. The site has almost all of the PSVita, PS3 and PSP content as well as themes, add-ons, avatars ect. Included with that is the ability to browse the expansive library of TV and Movie content. The site features all of the current deals and PlayStation Plus content too. To download simply: Sign into your SEN account, then select the Account Management option. Go to Transaction Management, then Download List, then select the content you want to download. Right now there is no auto download or push for content.
The site is a nice addition to the available options for users especially with the payment options. With this store being still in a test phase, its pretty impressive. The new Sony Entertainment Network store is available to use right now in most regions, with hopefully more later on. Check it out, and don’t forget to check out the 12 Deals of Christmas special going on.
