First details about the multiplayer component in Square Enix’s upcoming title, Tomb Raider has been revealed.

The details were outed by a subscriber of the Official Xbox Magazine over on the  Tomb Raider forum. The first mode he stated was available was Team Deathmatch.  This sees players play as one of a Team of Lara’s surviving allies or one of a group of hostile natives named scavengers in a best of three round match.

As well as facing other players, gamers will face lever-based traps that will shoot spikes out of walls and there are also destructible environments which include bridges. Players can also use the bow whilst other weapons are not confirmed.

There is another game mode which is titled Rescue. This sees players try and collect medication packs and then deliver them to various destinations on the map whilst the scavengers try and stop them.

Also making its way to the multiplayer is a mode called Cry for Help. Here, players must discover and collect various items. More details on this mode is to be made available at a later date.

There are various characters to pick from all having different stats and starting weapons. These will consist of items such as a gun or bow, a grenade type weapon and also a climbing axe which can be used in melee combat. Experience points can be used to improve stats and also purchase new weapons.
