10. multiMAN 04.02.04 Gave Us Enhanced High Quality Movie Control
Remember the days when multiMAN worked alongside that little popular dongle known as Cobra? despite the fact that we had to attach a god awful piece of hardware to our systems to maximize the homebrew experience, these were very exciting times for the scene. After all, in a way this was the period of time where the multiMAN program really kind of began to define itself. Sure, we were all loading games from it nonstop by this point, but in the early months of 2012, it really became a manager that transformed from really awesome to absolutely necessary regardless if you were a hardcore gamer or not.
Let’s take a look at version 04.02.04 specifically as an example of this. Instead of simply focusing on the game loading abilities that it had already done so well, we were finally given some really high quality video controls that allowed us to pause, rewind and rewatch some of those awesome explosions again and again. Not to mention with Dolby support we could finally hear them in all of their true glory too. At this time of the year, you probably loved that small addition for the Dark Knight Blu Ray you just picked up a few months back. As if that wasn’t cool enough, this revision also enabled the use of NTFS drives for streaming and loading videos as well. In a sense, this particular story showed that multiMAN was truly living up to the multi in its name.
Next in line, we’ll take a look even further back in multiMAN dongle history as we remember an update that had just a little more to do with some actual gameplay. After all, that is what most of us here live for is it not?
