Universal Media Server Goes To The 2.4.1. Good News if you are rockin a Sharp Aquos TV.

There’s a new update available for Universal Media Server and for those keeping score, it’s for version 2.4.1. This release contains a smaller set of changes compared to its previous version but it’s for the better. Notably, support for Sharp Aquos TVs and Showtime Mediacenter 4 has been added among the updates to the various other components that make up Universal Media Server. Here is the full changelog:


General:

  • Improved autostart support

Renderers:

  • Added support for Sharp Aquos TVs
  • Added support for Showtime 4

External Components:

  • Updated MPlayer/MEncoder for Windows and Linux to SB50, which:
    • Silences meaningless errors
    • Supports 32-bit Linux installations

  • Updated FFmpeg for Windows and Linux to SB7, which:
    • Adds RTMP support
    • Supports 32-bit Linux installations


You can grab the latest update to Universal Media Server below. The drill remains the same. If coming from a version prior to 1.5.0, delete the ‘UMS.conf’ file and uninstall the previous version before updating to the new one.
